Garth & Castiel
AvailableGarth & castiel are a pair of large, adult, mixed-breed males—pit bull terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier—currently in New Baltimore, MI. Both are neutered, house trained, and special needs dogs due to their specific requirement for slow introductions with other dogs and a home without cats or small dogs. They’ve been together all their lives and must be adopted as a bonded pair. Their age is around 7 years and 4 months.
About Garth & Castiel
February marks three years since garth & castiel came into the rescue, and it's long past time for these bonded seniors to find a real home. Both are around 6 and 8 years old, a pair of stout, short-legged dogs weighing roughly 65lbs each but standing barely knee high. Their history scavenging on the streets of Detroit forged a powerful, unbreakable bond—it's likely they're father and son or brothers. They absolutely must go home together. These two have moderate to low energy, and they're happiest when cuddling, playing, or stretched out relaxing. While dog social, they need slow introductions to other dogs and should not live with cats or very small dogs. They aren't suited for homes with children. Foster-to-adopt is welcome so everyone can ease into the transition. If adoption doesn't happen soon, separating them might be unavoidable, so the stakes are high. Give these guys the soft landing they've waited so long for. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
