About Honey

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Honey's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Honey - a 1 year/ 4 month old (3/24), Mountain Cur / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 11/12/25). This sweet girl was found as a stray in Tennessee when she wandered onto someone's lawn. At the time she was pregnant, and unfortunately her babies didn't survive. This girl is ready for a fresh start and can't wait to find her forever family! Her foster shares: "Honey got her name because she is so sweet and her beautiful golden color. She loves her belly rubs, and enjoys being brushed, and to cuddle up with her people... this girl enjoys all the finer things in life! Sometimes Honey can be goofy and other times acts like a princess and appears to prance when she walks. Honey likes belly rubs, car rides, to be brushed, and to lie beside her people. Honey is house trained, crate trained and knows some commands. She is a great family companion getting along well with several small dogs in her foster home and with her humans. She even is good with goats and pigs. Honey is good with kids but we are recommending ages 8+ because of her exuberant personality. She may accidentally knock little kids down while running around. Honey is really looking forward to having her very own forever family. Are you looking for your best companion? All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
