About Checkers
Checkers and Bartholomew are a bonded pair of adult male cats who need to be adopted together. Checkers is the black and white extrovert of the duo, full of chatter and antics. His favorite activities include wrestling with Bartholomew, exploring toys, and singing for snacks—he’ll do just about anything for a treat. While he loves cuddling with his brother, he’s still learning that cuddling with humans can be good too, especially if you approach slowly or offer a hideaway. If you try to pick him up out in the open, expect a dramatic performance, but in his cozy hidey-hole, he’ll soak up all the gentle pets you offer. Bartholomew, the orange gent, is the quieter half. He’s soft-natured, shy at first, and obsessed with feather toys. Though slow to trust, once he’s comfortable, he’ll reward patience with purrs and head-butts—but only from inside his kennel or favorite nook. These two thrive together. Their days are all about friendly tussles, mutual grooming, and napping curled together in perfect harmony. They get along well with calm resident cats, given a gentle introduction. Both boys will need a patient, cat-savvy adopter who can offer lots of safe spaces and understand that trust takes time.
