About Candace

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Candace. This lovely 3-year-old Chihuahua mix is ready for a brand-new beginning. Candace entered the shelter as a stray with a serious neck wound from a recent dog fight. Although her injuries have healed, the trauma has left its mark, and understandably, she prefers to feel safe and loved in her next home. Candace desires a calm, nurturing environment where she can bond with someone devoted. She connects deeply and quickly—her Velcro-dog personality means she adores staying close to her person, soaking up as much affection as possible. She currently lives in foster care with other dogs, but as she continues to heal emotionally, Candace does best either as an only pet or alongside a small, submissive companion. Crates aren’t her favorite, though she can tolerate them for brief moments. House training is going great, and she even does a cute little dance to let you know when it’s time to go outside. Candace is in Clovis, California (Paw Squad 559). Out-of-area and out-of-state adopters are welcome, but be ready to travel to meet her. If you're searching for a loyal little friend who will shower you with love and devotion, Candace just might be the perfect fit. She's simply looking for the same unconditional love she’ll give in return. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
