About Smith
Happy Spring! Warmer weather is finally on it's way and so is Kitten Season! We need to make room for new Moms and kittens so they can be fixed and get them forever homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Maybe even two? Remember you save TWO cats lives and help countless more cats & kittens by adopting! When you adopt one cat, it makes room to save another! Win! Win! The kitties thank you too! This is Smith! Smith is a domestic medium haired brown tabby, neutered male, up to date on his shots and approximately 3.5 years old. Smith is available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana. Hi! My name is Smith and I’m finally discovering how good life can be! I didn’t start out in the best place, but I'm on my way! I came from a bad situation where I didn’t get much love or even a chance to just be a cat. Most of my time was spent trying to get enough food! For a long time, I didn't know what it felt like to be loved but I haven't let that tough start break my spirit. Now that I’m at the shelter, I’ve decided to leave the past behind and spend every single day making up for lost time! Plus I always have lots of food to eat! I especially love wet kitty food!! I’m finally the happiest I've ever been and now I live to play! Whether it’s chasing a feather wand, hunting a laser pointer or playing with other kitties, I love to have fun! After playtime, I still like pets on my soft, floofy stripey fur too! I'm usually on the move and ready for fun though! I’m in the prime of my life and looking for a real home where I’ll never have to worry about anything other than playing again. I get along with other kitties, especially kitties that like to play, so if you already have a high energy kitty that likes to play we would be best friends! I'm not sure about dogs, but older kids would probably be okay too! I’ve got my bags packed so will you be the person who’s going to help me start my brand-new chapter? I could be your new best friend! If you’re looking for a sweet, fluffy and young at heart kitty, please call 219-922-1766 and leave a message to meet Smith! Our volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to gain their trust to show them they are safe and no one will hurt them. However, when the kitties go to a new home, some will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months. We are always here to help with any questions Please, only apply if you are an experienced cat owner or are willing to provide patience and good forever home. Thank you!
