About Stevie Nicks
Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Stevie Nicks. Stevie Nicks is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Meet Stevie Nicks! Stevie Nicks (aka Stevie) came to us as an owner surrender. The other dogs in the home would gang up on Stevie, so the owner decided to get rid of her. Stevie is a Dutch Shepherd mix who is 3 years old and currently weighs 50 pounds. Stevie is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready to find a family to love and cherish her for the rest of her days. Despite her past, Stevie is extremely dog friendly! She currently lives with 4 other dogs and plays great with everyone and even enjoys going to the dog park. Stevie is also cat friendly and currently lives with a cat in her foster home. She's very friendly towards the cats in her foster home. Stevie is kid friendly too! Although she doesn't live with kids currently, she's very sweet towards them at adoption events. She's shy in general when meeting strangers, but warms up. Stevie is great on the leash! She doesn't pull and will stay calmly by your side. She can get a little anxious in crowded settings, but she will walk just slightly behind you for comfort. Stevie is great about sharing her toys and treats with the other pups in her foster home. Stevie is fully potty and crate trained. Stevie free-roams at night and does really well. She loves her crate and sometimes doesn’t even want to come out of the crate after several hours. She sleeps in her crate regularly. It’s now her safe space. In addition to her crate, she loves laying on the bed and couch for naps We would say that Stevie has a moderate energy level. She enjoys relaxing around the house and being a couch potato, but we think she would enjoy the company of another dog to play with in her forever home. Stevie loves when her people go outside with her when she goes potty. She gets a little anxious if she's left alone in the backyard (this is where the attacks would happen at her last home), so her foster dad goes outside with her to potty and she does great with this! She will roam around, sunbathe, do her business, etc. Here's a small blurb about Stevie from her foster dad: Stevie has the ability to look you in the eyes and make you just want to give her the biggest hug. She truly is one of the sweetest dogs that I've ever met. Stevie would love a home with another dog and a yard for her to run around and play in. She's weary of strangers, but warms up when given time and space. She has done really well at outdoor food patios. Once she gets comfortable, she’ll relax and sit there and people watch. Stevie didn't have these in her previous home, so it's been so amazing to watch her come to love plushy / squeaky toys, chew on deer antlers and jump in the bed and ask for cuddles! She also enjoys going for long walks or even goes out on runs with me. Stevie is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. She’s such a gentle dog and welcomes love and affection at any time.
