About Nova
Nova is a smart and playful Dutch Shepherd with a big heart. She forms close connections with her people and thrives on attention, engagement, and being part of family life. Her intelligence shows through her love of puzzle toys, training sessions, and any sort of mental challenge. Nova is happiest when she has both physical activity and interesting things to do. She gets along well with teenagers and is very affectionate with people, wanting to stay close and be part of the action. When she hasn't had enough exercise or mental engagement, she can get overexcited, which is common for an energetic, bright dog her age. Nova is kennel trained, housebroken, and highly trainable. She’s very social in most situations but has shown some resource guarding around food-filled toys or when she’s enjoying something special in her kennel. Feeding her separately and giving her private space with high-value treats keeps her comfortable. She is fearful of cats and likely not a good fit for homes with them. Nova tends to be selective with other dogs, especially when things get high-energy, and would likely do best as the only dog or with thoughtful introductions. She is best suited to homes without very young children. Nova is fostered in a bustling home now, but she’d really blossom where she can get more one-on-one attention and structure. Someone active, who values a truly engaged companion, and understands how to set clear, fair boundaries will get the best from her. Fun fact: Nova is a Taurus—loyal and steady, but also stubborn and clever at heart. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
