Puppies are now 8 weeks old and officially ready for their forever homes! These four precious babies are siblings to the other "B" puppies in our rescue and part of one very big family. Their mama - a tiny, super young girl weighing only about 40 pounds - gave birth to thirteen puppies at our rural shelter partner. Thirteen. For such a petite, young mama, that's an overwhelming job. By around three weeks old, she was understandably exhausted and no longer interested in nursing - and honestly, we don't blame her one bit. She was still a baby herself trying to raise 13 babies. At just three weeks old, remaining in a shelter environment without their mom would have left these little ones extremely vulnerable. Puppies that young have very little immunity, and exposure to illness in a shelter setting can be devastating. They needed a safety net - and fast. An incredible foster stepped up and allowed us to bring the first group of siblings to safety. Shortly after, these four joined them - and they have been absolutely thriving ever since. Now at 8 weeks old, they are the cutest, sweetest, fluffiest, happiest little pups. They are very well socialized, love everyone and everything, and are confident, playful, snuggly, and truly the whole package. They are ready to head to their forever homes now, and we cannot wait to see them land with families who will cherish them for a lifetime.
