About Parka
Parka is a middle-aged, short, and stocky mixed breed dog who has weathered more than her fair share of hard times. She narrowly escaped euthanasia at a shelter, labeled as "reactive" until her foster stepped up and realized she was pregnant—her anxiety had roots nobody saw. Parka’s only surviving puppy has already found a home, but Parka is still waiting for her turn. After battling heartworm, enduring a complicated spay, and having mammary tumors removed, Parka is now healthy and cancer-free. She thrives in the company of other dogs, so her future home needs a resident canine companion. That stability helps her feel secure, especially during loud noises or unfamiliar experiences. Parka connects deeply with gentle women and remains reserved with men or new faces. She’s housetrained and crate-trained, cooperative for leashed potty breaks, but not yet comfortable with longer walks. Loud chaos or unpredictability is hard on her, so she’ll do best where life moves at a slower pace. If you can offer patience, understanding, and a calm, loving space, Parka is ready to offer her affection and gratitude. She’s fully vetted, in good health, and deserves a future far brighter than her past. Parka is in Charleston, SC, and waiting to meet the person she can trust forever. Think you are the one?
