Meet Oliver! Oliver is a darling 8-9 year old Dachshund / lab mix who lost his home through no fault of his own. Hi, I'm Oliver... but my friends call me Ollie. I am the perfect age as I've already mastered all the important things in life - like good manners, house training, and the art of the perfect nap. When I was just 4 months old, my mom found me in her work parking lot. I picked her that day, and we've been together ever since. She was my whole world. Recently, she became very sick and was gone for a while. Some kind neighbors checked on me, but it was confusing and lonely. When she finally came home, I thought everything would be okay again... but she had to leave suddenly, and I didn't understand why. It was a scary time for me. I hid because I didn't know who to trust. But the people who came weren't there to hurt me - they were my rescue heroes. Now I'm safe with my foster mom, and she says I am a very good boy (and I believe her). Here's what you should know about me: I am polite and quiet. I am house-trained. I get along well with other dogs. I love cozy beds and long, distinguished naps. I absolutely love getting pets and cuddles - and I give just as much love back. I have excellent house manners. Because I've been alone for long stretches before, I would really love a home where someone is around most of the time - maybe someone who works from home or is retired. I'm happiest when I'm near my people. I don't need constant activity... just your presence means the world to me. And I think I would really love kids. I'm gentle at heart and would happily soak up their hugs and be their loyal little shadow. At my age, I'm not looking for chaos - just a soft place to land and someone to love. I've been through a lot, but I still believe in my person. Maybe that could be you. Adoption fee is: $250 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs.
