He’s a bundle of energy with a zest for zoomies and fun-time tornados, making every day an adventure. Chopper longs for an active partner who enjoys long walks and exciting outings, and he’s at his happiest when he’s by your side. Having spent time both in foster care and at the shelter, Chopper has learned a lot—especially when it comes to handling his anxieties and becoming a great companion. He’s made tremendous progress with his separation anxiety, but he still thrives best with someone who can dedicate plenty of time and affection to him. Loyalty and love are what define Chopper; he’s known for his affectionate nature and steadfast devotion to his people. Chopper does have some unique quirks: he can be a bit possessive, preferring not to share his food or squeaky toys and needing a slow introduction to any resident dogs. His ideal home is cat-free and child-free, with someone comfortable setting boundaries and continuing work on reactive behaviors and resource guarding. Physical play with another dog can be a plus, as Chopper delights in the company—so long as toys are kept out of the equation! His new family should be ready to support his training and respect his boundaries to help him thrive. This could be the start of something paw-some.
