About Chopper
Chopper, a staff favorite, has spent more than a year searching for his forever home. As a husky/lab mix, Chopper is a burst of energy—he thrives on zoomies and his tornado-like play sessions. He needs an adopter who will match his lust for adventure and give him the daily exercise he craves. Throughout his foster time, he's been working through anxieties and becoming more comfortable settling into home life. Chopper does have some separation anxiety, but he's shown progress with consistent structure. He lives for affection and is fiercely loyal, but has a possessive streak, especially around his toys and food. Chopper’s future adopter must respect his boundaries and have some experience handling dogs with strong personalities and resource guarding. He does best meeting new dogs through careful introductions and is thriving in foster when toys are kept away during play with resident dogs—he simply prefers interactive play over sharing his prized squeakies. Chopper should not live with cats and is not suited for homes with children. This is a dog for an adult household that understands his quirks and will continue to support him in working through his reactive and possessive moments. If you want a devoted, active companion and have the experience to guide Chopper in his journey, he just might be the one for you. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
