Axel
AvailableAxel is a male American Bulldog with a large build and a short, white or cream coat. He's about 2 years and 11 months old, currently living in Millerstown, PA. Axel is neutered, vaccinated, and house trained. While he had a hip injury in the past that will require some care as he ages, he's managing well and looks forward to an active yet comfortable home life.
About Axel
Axel showed up at the rescue as a stray, guessed to be around 1 to 2 years old when he arrived—and he’s been waiting close to a year for a home. He weighs about 75 lbs and was full of puppy energy, but has settled down since then. He's learned decent leash manners and only pulls a little, though he does best with a chain-style leash since the others seem too much like toys to him. Over time, it was discovered that Axel had an old hip injury; it can’t be fixed now, so he’ll probably need supplements as he ages and might develop arthritis, but he’s not letting it get in his way. Axel isn’t reactive with other dogs and could even see himself with a girlfriend. He only barks when the chorus starts up around him, and sometimes keeps his thoughts to himself. His manners are a work in progress—he knows sit and will even wait for his food. Older kids seem like a good fit for him. Cats make him a little uneasy, so supervision is best if there are any in the house. He’s got a face that can smile or look tragically sad—those are his specialties. Axel wants nothing more than to find someone to curl up with, whether you’re binging a book or just hanging out. With part of his adoption fee already covered, the next step is to meet him in Millerstown, PA and see if you click. This could be the start of something paw-some.
