Hi there! My name is Skye, and I’m a 7-year-old long-haired Chihuahua with the most beautiful flowing blonde coat you’ve ever seen! When I first arrived at the sanctuary, I was heartbroken to be separated from my former owner. It took me about a week to decompress and learn that I was safe. But once I trust you? I am affectionate, sweet, and absolutely melt into pets. I’ll even ask for them now! I love to play with my son, Bubba, but we are not bonded. I’m social with some other dogs and can be selective. I need time to warm up to others and would do best in a home with a defined space to myself, especially while decompressing. My ideal home would be one where I am the only dog or with pet parents who can slowly introduce me to my new dog companions. I walk nicely on a leash, ride well in the car, and previously lived in a home with lots of other dogs. Because I need a little time and patience to settle in, I’d do best with experienced rescue dog owners who understand the importance of structure and giving me the space to decompress.
