Can you imagine being a tiny little soul, one of 35 dogs trapped in the same home... slowly starving to death? Confined to a small kennel with your brothers and sisters. No clean water. No comfort. So desperate to survive that you drink your own urine and eat your own stool because there is simply nothing else. So painfully hungry that when gravel is thrown into the kennel, you eat that too, just to try to stop the ache in your belly. That was Violet's reality. When she came to us, she was nothing more than a fragile little skeleton. She could barely walk. The pads of her paws were burned and raw because her tiny body was so weak, so sore, and so broken that moving hurt too much to even try. She was filthy, covered in feces, and clinging to life. Her littermates were sent on to other rescues, but Violet was in such heartbreaking condition that we were terrified she might not survive. So we kept her close, placing her with a very special foster momma who could give her the extra love, care, and watchful eye she so desperately needed. And somehow... this little girl fought her way back. Now her fur has grown back. Her paws are healing beautifully. The filth and suffering are behind her. She is finally doing what a puppy should have been able to do all along — playing, trusting, loving, and discovering that the world is not only pain and fear. Violet is blossoming into a beautiful little puppy with a gentle spirit and so much love to give. She adores people. She is learning that kindness exists. She is learning that she matters.
