Police lights flashed along the road after an accident, cars crept by, and in the middle of it all was a tiny cat... staggering along the pavement, barely able to walk. No one knows how long she had been out there, or how long she had been trying to survive on her own. That little cat was Polly. She was scared. Exhausted. Freezing. Alone. But one compassionate police officer refused to leave her there. He gently picked her up and gave Polly something she may not have felt in a long time — someone who cared. She arrived at FC that Sunday night under police escort, where three experienced volunteers were waiting to help her. That moment likely saved her life. Polly is safe now, but the world has clearly been hard on her. She’s still shy and unsure, as if she’s waiting for life to be scary again. But if you sit quietly with her, something incredible happens... She slowly leans in. She melts into gentle pets. She shows the sweet, loving cat she truly is. Polly isn’t flashy or demanding. She’s the quiet cat in the corner hoping someone will notice her. Hoping someone will see past the fear and give her the life she’s always deserved. A warm home. A soft bed.
