About Dex
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix currently fostered in Houston, TX, and ready to travel to an approved adopter. Dex thrives in a structured environment and forms deep bonds with his people—he’s smart, loyal, and extremely affectionate once he trusts you. His playful side shines through during games of tug of war and catch, and his ability to read social cues means he’s respectful with dogs of all sizes. Dex excels on leash, walking calmly and showing no reactivity around other dogs. He’s crate trained, house trained, and settles quietly at night or when left alone after his exercise needs are met. Dex truly enjoys training and flourishes when given a job or routine to follow. He’s eager to please and highly intuitive. While Dex is an amazing companion, he isn’t suitable for homes with cats or small animals due to his strong prey drive. He does best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand canine boundaries, as he can take time to feel comfortable around new people and children. Once bonded, Dex is a loyal cuddle buddy ready to share his love. Dex’s birthday gives him the energy and determination of an Aries—a true go-getter! Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue is volunteer-run. They are dedicated to matching the right adopter with each dog and appreciate only serious applications. Dex can be transported to his forever home after a virtual meet and greet and approval.
