Coming from a hoarding situation, everything is still new to him, but with the help of a confident resident dog, he’s starting to come out of his shell and gain confidence each day. He is dog friendly and prefers to quietly coexist, taking cues and comfort from other dogs rather than engaging in play right away. Oswald is not potty trained yet, which is understandable given his past coming from a hoarding situation of many animals but he is making progress with routine and patience. He does well sleeping in a crate at night next to his foster and may whine briefly before settling in and sleeping soundly through the night. During the day, he currently stays in a bedroom space where he feels safe, often cuddling up and relaxing with his foster sibling. He would do best in a quieter home, as he can be a bit skittish with loud noises and sudden movements. While his experience with children is unknown, a calm environment with a gentle approach will help him continue to build trust and confidence. Despite his initial shyness, Oswald absolutely loves affection once he feels safe. He quickly bonds to his person, becoming a loyal little shadow who follows you from room to room, always wanting to be nearby. He enjoys lounging, soaking up belly rubs, and being talked to—those little moments mean everything to him. Oswald has a medium energy level and is surprisingly agile for such a small dog, with an impressive little jump when he wants to show it off. He is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give him the time and love he needs to fully blossom into the devoted companion he’s meant to be.
