About Ellie
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Ellie Mae Fostered in: Millersport, Ohio Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Yes Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes Leash trained: Yes FROM MY FOSTER FAMILY: Life at Home Ellie is a total "A+" student when it comes to house manners. For a young pup, she is remarkably advanced: Crate Trained & Housebroken: She sleeps soundly in her "house" at night and even runs there happily when she sees her food bowl coming. The Routine: She eats twice a day (in her crate to prevent "bloat") and is learning to wait patiently while other dogs are served. Manners: She already knows Sit, Shake, Lay Down, and "House." She's a fast learner who mastered her name in just one day! Energy & Play Ellie is a high-energy girl who would thrive with an active owner or a fenced-in yard (at least 1/2 acre) where she can let out her famous "zoomies." Favorite Games: She is a world-class tug-of-war champion and loves a good Kong toy. The "ADHD" Charm: She has a typical puppy attention span and a curious mind. She's quiet (she doesn't even bark at the neighbor's cat!), but she does like to stay busy. Note for Adopters: Ellie is a "heavy chewer," so she prefers metal bowls and tough rubber toys over plastic or plushies. Social Life Dogs: She is wonderful with other dogs! She currently lives with five others and loves to play. She would do best with another high-energy, good-tempered dog who can match her play style. People: She is a "social butterfly" with a sensitive soul. The Car: Ellie likely has some "car trauma" from her past, but she's getting braver every day. Once inside, she likes to lean against you and put a paw on your arm just to make sure you're staying with her. Health & Needs Up-to-date on Rabies and core vaccines. Tested negative for Parvo and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Future Needs: Ellie is not yet spayed (estimated to go into heat soon) and will need a microchip to ensure she never gets lost again. Ideal Home: A family with a fenced-in yard who understands the "puppy brain" of a Pointer/Lab mix. Someone who will continue her training, give her lots of chew toys, and let her lean on them during car rides. Veterinary Care Provided All COPAW dogs are: Spayed/Neutered Microchipped Heartworm tested (1+ year) Given preventatives and initial vaccines If booster shots have not yet occurred, they may be completed for free at our Columbus, OH clinic-or at your own vet, at your expense.
