About Jim

🐶 Basics o Jim (Jimbo, JimJim) o 3 year old / 13 lbs o Rescued in Texas 💛 Personality Snapshot ● Describe in 3–5 words: o Calm, playful, loving, cuddly, sweet ● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Moderate ● More people‑oriented or independent? o Definitely people-oriented! He loves being around people, but can be by himself if needed. ● How do they handle new situations? o He’s cautious at first but willing and eager to open up to new things! 🐕 Social & Home Life ● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? o Jim absolutely loves people! He will go right up to strangers and gets super curious when he sees kids walking down the street. ● How are they with other dogs? o Great! Jim is a total sweetheart with other dogs! Very easygoing, gentle, and happy to let others take the lead. He plays well and has never shown any aggression. ● Cats or other animals (if known)? o Unknown ● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: o Jim is a people-lover at heart, so he does best when he's not left alone for long stretches. He may whine a bit when first settling in, but with the right routine he adjusts well. He LOVES when people are over, he’s run up to every one of them to greet them one by one! 🎓 Training & Manners ● Potty trained? o Yes! He is also wee pad trained for middle-of-the-night needs. Prefers to go on grass during walks. ● Crate trained? o Unsure ● Leash skills: o He’s good on leash! He doesn’t pull, but still getting used to city sounds and walking in a straight line. He has a habit of circling around you, so a little guidance goes a long way! ● Commands known (if any): o Sit and paw! 🌞 Daily Life ● Typical day with you: o Jim's days are simple and sweet - morning walk and breakfast, some playtime and cuddles, an afternoon walk and snack, then winding down with dinner, his evening walk and plenty of chill time together. He's a low-key guy who's genuinely happy just hanging out by your side. ● Exercise needs: o 3 walks a day. He loves visiting the park and prefers to do his business on grass. ● Favorite activities or toys: o He loves his chew toys, they keep him stimulated and occupied. He also goes absolutely crazy for chicken! 🌱 Growth Areas ● Anything they’re still working on? o Leash manners - he doesn’t pull, but he tends to circle around you while walking o Getting comfortable with city sounds - he likes to stop to see what’s going on when he hears the ambulance or loud engine noises. o Stairs - He’s also learning to navigate stairs, which seems brand new to him! ● What helps them succeed? o Gentle guidance on walks, patience with new environments, and plenty of people around. Chicken as a treat doesn’t hurt either! 🏡 Ideal Home ● Only dog / With dog / Either: o Either! He’d thrive in both situations. If paired with another dog, a similar-sized, calm or moderate-energy companion would be the ideal match given his submissive nature. ● Good fit for apartment living? o Yes! Jim is a great apartment dog. He doesn’t bark at outside noises indoors, rides elevators like a champ, and we’re gradually teaching him to handle stairs on walks. He’s calm and well-behaved indoors. ● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): o Moderate to calm. Jim is an adaptable guy, but he truly flourishes in a relaxed, loving environment where he can soak up all the attention. ● What kind of adopter would be the best match? o Someone who works from home or has a hybrid schedule would be ideal! Jim loves having his people around. He’d be a perfect companion for someone who wants a sweet, low-maintenance cuddle buddy by their side throughout the day. 💙 Foster Note - Jim is seriously one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He’s super chill, endlessly affectionate, and has a way of crawling right into your lap while you’re working. He has some bite marks on his face and ear, likely from a past encounter with another dog, but it hasn't stopped him from playing with his doggy friends one bit. His funny quirk? He walks in little circles around you on the leash like he’s orbiting his favorite planet. Whoever adopts Jim is getting a gentle, loving and devoted pup! He is seriously the best!
