About Grace

Grace is a gentle Anatolian Shepherd with an incredibly soft temperament. While her breed is known for guarding livestock, Grace seems to have made it her mission to show affection to every dog and person she encounters. She's house trained and has a natural sense of manners, eager for outings whether that means coffee shop runs, forest hikes, or calm dog park visits. At 75 pounds, she’s a big dog who prefers leaning her full weight on you for affection, soaking up every pet and kiss. Grace loves other dogs and people; she's truly a companion animal at heart. Her early life was marked by neglect and nutrient deficiencies, leaving her front legs misshapen with an old fracture that healed incorrectly. Veterinary evaluation says she is comfortable now, though too much rowdy play can leave her sore. She takes Carprofen if needed. Because of this, Grace’s ideal home is with a mellow dog sibling or as a solo dog with occasional social outings. She’s best without small children, simply due to her size. New situations—staircases, loud noises, unfamiliar floors—can make her uneasy, but with patience, she continues to gain confidence as a cherished family member. Therapeutic rehab (water treadmill, laser therapy, massage, acupuncture) could further strengthen her and keep her pain free, and her rescue is committed to jumpstarting this journey. Grace is looking for a loving home willing to support her ongoing wellness and celebrate her joyful spirit. Though fostered in Port Angeles, WA, volunteers can transport her anywhere in the Pacific Northwest for the right match. Click apply to start the adoption process.
