Selena was pulled from a high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas and has been with our rescue for nearly two years. For a long time she was content simply existing quietly and observing the world around her. As she settled into rescue, we knew she deserved the opportunity to grow and experience more, so she recently spent time with a trainer who helped tremendously with her leash skills and confidence getting out in public. Selena is a very shy and sensitive girl who will need patience and understanding while she learns to trust her new environment. She enjoys soft toys and finds comfort in the presence of other dogs, which really helps her come out of her shell. Because of this, Selena would do best in a home with another calm, confident dog to help guide her. She is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Fast movements can make her nervous, so she would do best in a calm home, likely with older children who understand how to give her space while she builds confidence. Selena is not comfortable with stairs and does best in a home where she can easily move around without them. Selena is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.
