About Lady Of The Dales
Meet Lady, a girl with sad eyes and an even sadder story :( Lady came to us SEVERELY underweight and very afraid of people. She initially kept her tail tucked tightly between her legs, and would whimper or howl when approached by strangers. After some TLC with an amazing foster family, Lady has gained weight and even a little confidence! Her foster mom told us Lady does well with both dogs and cats. If you already have a resident dog, we offer dog-to-dog introductions at KHS to ensure it's a good fit before adopting! Lady is still somewhat timid around new/loud things, and would do best at a home without livestock (horses, goats, and donkeys all scare her). She is house-trained! She either uses a doggie door or will go to the door when she needs out. Lady knows the basic commands, has great recall, and is a constant companion who always wants to be near her people! Her kennel is her safe space, but she definitely loves couch time and cuddles :) Lady's a sensitive girl, but she responds well when you use a gentle voice. She's looking for a patient adopter who will help her out of her shell and past her unhappy memories. Despite being so skinny and starved before, Lady is very patient at mealtimes! She shows no food aggression, and takes treats gently from your hand. Lady is a little under 3 years old and 32 lbs of puppy love. This girl has been through so much, and she's ready to be spoiled in her forever home! Think you could be the best friend she's been waiting for? Visit Lady of the Dales today! ...
