About Jayden

Jayden is a 10-year-old brown tabby who arrived at the shelter in Maine during the cold months of 2022. Her past is mostly a mystery, but it’s clear she hadn’t spent much time around people before coming in—she was wary, keeping her distance and very much on guard. It’s taken real patience from the volunteers in the Shy Angels Socialization Program, but Jayden has made noticeable progress. She now comes out for interactive play and, with those she trusts, even shows gentle affection—every so often, she’ll surprise a favorite human with a quiet little kiss. A quiet, low-traffic home is important for Jayden. She thrives when there’s calm and gentle routine, and she needs adopters who both respect her boundaries and appreciate her strong-willed nature. Experience with under-socialized cats is a must. Jayden does best as the only cat and should not live with dogs or children, but in the right environment, she’s ready to keep developing into a more confident companion. To meet Jayden, a meeting with a member of the Shy Angels team is required as part of the adoption process. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
