I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:4Nice is a 4-year-old, 64-pound husky/shepherd mix with a gentle, soulful presence. He arrived at the shelter after being found wandering a neighborhood. Though a bit scruffy and smelly at first, Nice handled multiple baths with patience, showing his sweet and tolerant nature. On a recent field trip, Nice was a relaxed travel buddy in the car. He walked politely on a loose leash though he can be sensitive to loud noises and may feel nervous in busy or unpredictable environments. He would do best with a patient adopter who can help him feel safe and confident. Nice is mostly independent when meeting other dogs, happily minding his own business. He has been playing with other gentle dogs in shelter playgroups. He could thrive as a solo dog in the home or with a well-matched canine companion. This handsome boy is a loving dog looking for a calm home where he can feel secure. With reassurance and care, Nice is ready to blossom into a devoted companion.
