About Dorinda
Dorina is a 1 year-old, 14-pound female shih tzu/chihuahua mix from Tijuana! She has adjusted very well during her time with her foster family in Jersey City. Dorinda enjoys going for walks, playing with her cuddle toys, and most of all snuggling and cuddling. She is doing well understanding “stay" but is still working on other obedience training. She understands "sit" but currently only does so when you have a treat to give her. During her time with her foster family, she definitely seems to be housetrained. Her forever family will need to keep up with a consistent potty schedule to maintain all the good work she's done so far! Dorinda does very well on her leash, and responds extremely well to even the smallest re-directions. Dorinda is one of the most affectionate pups, I've ever meet, is full of puppy energy and joy, and loves going on walks. Dorinda is working on her crate training. She currently does not love being in her crate for longer than an hour or so, and will whine a bit if in there longer. She loves to be close to her family at all times, but is working on relaxing on her own. Her forever family will need to continue working with Dorinda to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her favorite plush toys. Dorinda should be good in anywhere from a low key to a very active family setting. She appreciates both downtime and active moments and is an easygoing girl - she will do whatever her owner is doing or wants to do. She would be good as a solo dog but also think she would do well with other dogs in her company. Dorinda does well with other dogs. We think Dorinda would do well with kids too - she is very gentle and is extremely easy to play with and be around. Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention. To apply to adopt Dorinda, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
