About Gus
Gus is a lovable, silly adult pit bull terrier mix in Kansas City, MO, and he’s been busy learning at Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center. He’s picked up some basic commands and is part of LIFT University, a confidence-building program that helps manage his high energy. Gus thrives with routine and gentle encouragement—he’s slow to warm up but, once he does, will become your best couch buddy and cuddle champion. Because he gets nervous around new people and loud noises, a stable home without other dogs is a must, and he’s best placed with kids over six. Apartment living isn’t for him (he likes to use his voice, and new neighbors would likely stress him out). Gus needs to go home on a martingale collar for safety. He’s eligible for a Slumber Pawty, which lets you try a 7-10 day in-home period to see if it’s a good fit. Give this sweet, energetic boy a patient, understanding home—he’ll reward you with loyalty and plenty of goofball charm. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
