About Gumbo

Gumbo spent time at San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus as a stray before coming to Frosted Faces Foundation. Staff there vouched for him—he’s got an easy, gentle presence. At the shelter, Gumbo shared a kennel with a senior female dog and got along without trouble. Now eight years old, Gumbo has settled into a foster home and proven himself adaptable and eager to be with a family again. His foster calls him a sweetheart: dog friendly, housebroken, crate trained. Gumbo does well in the car, rarely barks, and seems to appreciate a good night’s sleep—up to 11 hours is not unusual for him. He loves his routine: out in the morning, two walks a day, backyard play, and plenty of time napping or chewing a toy. He plays mostly with people rather than other dogs but coexists nicely. He’s big and goofy, does get excited, and might knock over young kids if play escalates. He is motivated by food, so counters and snacks merit caution, but he listens to basic corrections and is learning to walk nicely on leash. Anyone looking for a calm, friendly companion with brown-eyed charm should put Gumbo on their list. Pisces dogs like Gumbo (born March 9) are known for their gentle, affectionate nature—traits he clearly lives up to. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
