About Lola
Hi, my name is Lola! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Affectionate, energetic, timid -Can Live with Kids: Unknown history - recommending dog savvy kids 8+ at this time. Up to counselor's discretion. -Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - would likely do best with dog savvy cats who can stand up for themselves. Slow and supervised introductions always recommended. -Can Live with Dogs: Yes, with the right match. All initial intros done at WHS. -Can do Apartment Living: No thanks - too unpredictable. -Potty Trained: Working on it -Bite History: No -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Not required, but highly encouraged to help build a foundation of confidence and good manners! -Energy Level: High! -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, spay. Meet Lola - a young pup who's looking for her furrever home! Lola likely spent a majority of her previous life outside, so she's still getting used to this whole indoor dog thing. While she was pretty skittish at first, she's now learning that humans mean treats and pets, so she's working on her respectful greetings and not jumping up when new people approach. Because she’s still building her confidence, Lola would thrive in a predictable household with a steady routine and people who understand that socialization takes time. A calm home where she knows what to expect each day will help her feel safe and secure. She’ll do best with adopters who are willing to go at her pace and continue positive reinforcement training to help her navigate the world. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
