About Shelby
Shelby is a 6-month-old spayed female Shepherd/Hound mix who embodies pure puppy joy. After a tough start as a stray in Texas, Shelby has blossomed in her foster home and thrives on companionship. She’s playful, goofy, and affectionate, with a knack for lifting spirits wherever she goes. Shelby loves other dogs and adjusts her playstyle to match their vibe—she’ll wrestle, chase, or flop over in submission with impressive dog manners for her age. Fetch and crinkly toys are favorites, and she’s got the energy to keep up with an active family. Shelby lives with older kids and does beautifully with them, remaining gentle and sweet. She’s curious about the world and ready to learn more with the right family. Still working on her house training, she’s almost there—quickly picking up consistent routines. Leash walks are a treat: she’s friendly, inquisitive, and easy to guide with a harness. She sleeps well in her crate overnight, though she prefers to be near her humans and isn’t meant for long isolation. Shelby is used to car rides, takes stairs in stride, and is comfortable with typical household noises and routines. She hasn’t lived with cats, but her curiosity suggests proper introductions could go smoothly. With her social nature, Shelby does best when her people include her as part of the family. An adopter with the time and energy to give her daily exercise and guidance will get a loving sidekick who shares hugs, laughter, and loyal companionship. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
