Monty update 🐾💔 HE WAS THE LAST ONE LEFT. 💔🐾 Monty was barely 3 months old. Just a baby. One by one, his 10 siblings were chosen. Carried out in loving arms. Driven home to warm beds and new beginnings. And Monty? He stayed behind. Curled up in the back of a cold concrete kennel in a high-kill shelter in California. Shaking. Terrified. Alone. Unwanted. Forgotten. Waiting for the inevitable. ⏳ A baby who didn’t understand why no one picked him. His time was almost up when rescue stepped in last December while we were there pulling 7 more dogs. We couldn’t leave him there. Not that sweet, trembling soul who just needed someone to believe in him. ❤️‍🩹 But saving him was only the beginning. The first weeks weren’t glamorous. There were no big smiles or playful videos. There was decompression. Healing. Patience. Quiet reassurance. Teaching Monty that hands can be gentle. That voices don’t have to be loud. That the world isn’t all pain and indifference. And slowly... he started to trust. 🌤️ Today, Monty is blossoming. 🌱 Last weekend he bravely attended his first TWO adoption events! He met new people. New dogs. New experiences. Yes, he’s shy at first — but underneath that cautious exterior is a tender, loving boy who wants so badly to feel safe. With continued positive outings and encouragement, we know Monty will continue to grow in confidence.
