Meet #Drew. Last week this brindle boy was found roaming the streets of Warren with no one claiming him. No collar. No one looking. Just out there on his own trying to figure life out. We are calling him Drew — and he is such a gentle little soul. Drew is on the thinner side right now and could definitely use some groceries and some good old-fashioned TLC. He’s soaking up the warmth, the routine, and the steady meals here at the shelter. Watching a dog settle in and realize they’re safe is one of the most beautiful things… and Drew is starting to understand that he doesn’t have to wander anymore. You may notice a small white marking in one of his eyes. It does not seem to cause him any discomfort. It could be a birth defect or something minor — we truly don’t know yet — but he’s acting completely comfortable and unbothered. We’ll learn more as we go. What we do know? He is sweet. He is quiet. He is attentive. He looks at you like he’s hoping this is finally his turn. He has not yet been dog tested, and he has not been cat tested. At this time, we are recommending older, respectful children while we continue to learn more about him. We always want to set our pups — and their future families — up for success. There is something extra special about giving a shelter dog their second chance. The gratitude. The loyalty. The way they settle into your home like they’ve been waiting their whole life for it.
