Meet Malcolm! Malcolm is a five-month-old Border Collie mix who started out at just seven pounds in January and has been growing steadily ever since. He’s expected to mature into a medium-sized dog and is right in the heart of his playful, curious puppy stage. Malcolm is an outgoing, expressive little guy who loves being part of the action, but he’s just as happy soaking up affection and attention from his people. He’s often the first to check out something new, approaching the world with bright-eyed curiosity and a wagging tail. Among his siblings, Malcolm naturally tends to take the lead during playtime, showing off his confidence and enthusiasm. He can be a little competitive in that fun, puppy way, but he also enjoys connection and thrives on positive interaction. His boldness is paired with a sweet, people-oriented nature that makes him eager to learn and please. With gentle guidance, clear expectations, and consistent positive reinforcement, Malcolm is sure to grow into a well-mannered and devoted companion. Malcolm and his four siblings were rescued from the Bakersfield Animal Care Center after being brought in as strays, and we’re so grateful they now have the chance to grow up in loving homes instead of a shelter environment. He is fully vaccinated, and his neuter will be scheduled according to our adoption contract timeline. Malcolm will flourish in a home that offers mental stimulation, activity, and ongoing training, but most of all, he’s looking for someone who will cherish his affectionate heart and help him channel his confidence in positive ways.
