Meet Booker Booker is a 5 month old Border Collie mix who weighed 5 pounds back in January and has continued growing ever since. He is expected to mature into a medium sized dog and is right in that fun, impressionable puppy phase where everything is new and exciting. Booker has a slightly more easygoing presence than his brother Malcolm, but he still carries that bright Border Collie spark. He enjoys playtime and activity, yet he is especially drawn to people and loves soaking up attention. He has a sweet, affectionate nature and often looks to his humans for reassurance and connection. He is the kind of puppy who wants to be involved and included, whether that means joining in on play or curling up nearby after he has burned off some energy. Like his siblings, Booker will thrive with continued structure, training, and enrichment. Border Collie mixes are intelligent and benefit from mental stimulation, consistency, and positive reinforcement as they grow. With guidance, Booker’s attentive and people focused personality will really shine. We rescued Booker and his littermates from the Bakersfield Animal Care Center after they were brought in as strays. We are so grateful we were able to bring them into foster care and give them the fresh start they deserve. Booker is fully vaccinated and will be neutered according to our adoption contract timeline. He is looking for a home that will nurture his sweet nature, provide ongoing training, and embrace both his playful side and his desire for closeness. With love and consistency, Booker is going to grow into a loyal and devoted companion.
