About Lexie & Cooper Cross
Lexie and Cooper unexpectedly lost the person they loved most, and now this devoted pair is hoping for a second chance — together. Lexie (black/tan), 5 years old, was adopted from NCCR when she was a puppy. She’s pure sunshine — outgoing, affectionate, and convinced that everyone she meets is her new best friend. Cooper, 3½–4 year old mixed breed, also came from NCCR. He’s a little more thoughtful at first, but give him a minute and you’ll see his sweet, loyal heart shine through. These two are beautifully bonded, housetrained, know their basics (“sit,” “down,” “shake”), stroll politely on leash, and can relax at home with free indoor access when you’re away. They’ve already been through a loss. Now they just need a home where they can stay side by side. If you can open your heart to two beautiful souls who are already a perfect pair, you’ll be giving them the fresh start they deserve.❤️ Lexie and Cooper are in a foster home. Meet & Greets can be arranged for approved applicants. *Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit. Health info: Both dogs are altered and shots are up to date. Lexie takes Prednisone (daily) and a monthly for Addisons. Cooper has no known health issues If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!
