This handsome GSD is from San Bernardino CA. He was brought to my attention by a networker that asked if I could take him as he was due to be euthanized the next day with the reason being "long stay, no interest." Initially I said no bc I thought I had my hands full, but I wound up calling back and said I would as I realized the reality of what would happen if I said no. I’m so happy I did bc this western gentleman has been the sweetest and most respectful companion and the thought of him getting euthanised due to "no-one being interested in him" is even more heart breaking than it was before. Rune is eager to please and one of the most affectionate and attentive dogs I have ever met. I know he really just wants a human or family to call his own. Rune is definitely a more mellow Shepard, but he can hang for some intense cardio or a long hike with no problem. His MO is walking 10 feet ahead to keep an eye on the other dogs and looking back to make sure he can see you. He is always looking to please his human and in return receive affection. This guy is old Hollywood class and unconditional love.
