Renegade is a sweet male (possible Black Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier mix) puppy who made his debut into the world on December 3, 2025 when his beautiful mother (Mavis) gave birth to Renegade and his nine brothers/sisters. Momma Mavis had been brought to the HSOV on November 25, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Main Street in Belpre Ohio in the vicinity of McHappy's Bake Shoppe. Mavis was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped. Mavis was very pregnant when she entered our shelter, and we knew that she would soon be giving birth to several puppies based upon her size. Fortunately for Mavis, one of our wonderful foster mothers offered her the hospitality of a temporary home later in the day on November 25th so that Mavis would have a safe comfortable haven to give birth and to raise her babies. Renegade has a shiny black shorthaired coat with two small white patches (actually dots) on his chest, a long tail, and a precious puppy face a black button nose, a slender muzzle, large ears, and the most endearing facial expressions. We guarantee that Renegade will steal your heart when he looks up at you with soulful brown eyes to beg for attention. Renegade is the smallest of his siblings and is the little brother with the most shy/easygoing personality. Mavis returned to our shelter on February 4th since her puppies were fully weaned, and their foster mother continues to care for her puppies. These photos of Renegade were taken on February 21st 2026 while he posed for some super sweet pictures in a small wicker basket and also several others when he 'sat pretty' for the camera. HSOV is currently accepting adoption applications for Renegade and several of his siblings. Renegade will be neutered before being officially adopted by his new family. He could be fostered-to-adopt while he is awaiting his neuter appointment with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
