Helen is a beautiful 2-year old female Black Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 26, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Melody Lane in Marietta Ohio. Helen was accompanied by Dash (a male brindle Boxer mix). Neither Helen nor Dash were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped. Helen has a black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a lovely face with dark brown eyes, a large slender muzzle, and short semi-erect ears. These photos were taken as Helen and Dash were waiting to enter our shelter. Thanks to HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers for staying close to Helen while helping her with intake pictures and also for providing a sense of comfort/security for Helen. Helen is a fairly big girl who weighs 62 lbs. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Helen was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Sadly, as of closing time on August 30th, nobody has called or came looking for either Helen or Dash. Update: Helen was spayed on September 24, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine.
