About Val
Val is a three-year-old hound mix with a gentle, easygoing spirit and a soft chocolate-brown coat. After being found as a stray with skin issues, she's now healthy, settled, and ready for a home. In her foster home, Val quickly adapted—she’s living with four other dogs, gets along well with everyone, and is happy to be part of a pack. She’s also cat friendly and has done well with children, especially those older than eight. Val is housebroken, crate-trained, and respectful in the home: no chewing up possessions or counter-surfing, no begging at the table. She’s learned basic cues like “sit” and is picking up on more every day. Val loves affection, toys, and especially her daily walks—she would thrive with a family who can take her on at least one or two walks a day. She’s making great progress on leash manners and gearing up with more patience lately. When it comes to greeting new people, Val’s excitement is turning into polite greetings as she keeps improving her “four on the floor.” Though happy as an only dog, Val would likely enjoy having another calm canine companion. She sleeps contentedly through the night with her dog siblings and enjoys daytime naps in their shared room. If you’re looking for an affectionate, social, and smart companion who is ready to move forward, Val might just be your perfect fit. She was born February 25, so she’s a Pisces—a sign known for being intuitive and devoted. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
