About Moon
Moon, our 2-year-old lab-saluki mix from Kuwait, needs a happy ending. Moon was rescued when she barely a year old after being poisoned by a Kuwaiti university attempting to clear the campus of stray dogs. She was rescued by an amazing woman who discovered that Moon was blind from the poisoning. After treatment, Moon recovered some of her sight but still has some vision impairment. Because of her limited vision, Moon likes her space and needs clear structure and routine. She thought she had found her forever home in Canada, but we didn't know the extent of her vision problems and her adopter sadly couldn't provide the structure she needed. Moon turned to growling and snapping to try to get some control over her environment, then began showing aggression towards dogs that didn't respect her space. We moved Moon to a board and train facility, where she has been for the last six months. They have done an amazing job with her. She walks politely with the pack and lives peacefully in a home with six other dogs. She is super-affectionate with her trainer. Moon needs structure and an adopter who will continue the practices Moon learned in her program. Her board and train loves her and is committed to providing guidance and advice to whoever decides to give this deserving dog her forever home. Although Moon can live peacefully with other dogs, she would do best as an only dog and should not be in a home with young children. Her adoption fee is $500 USD. If you think you can give Moon her happy ending, please fill out an application on our website, www.gwarp.org, and text Diane to follow up at 917-771-1383. Please note, we do NOT get applications or inquiries from Petfinder so do not attempt to contact us here.
