Meet Howie, our gentle little Papillon/Pom mix with the softest soul. Howie is a low-key, incredibly sweet boy who has clearly been through more than his tiny body ever should have. We suspect he was hit by a car, which caused trauma to his eye and left him with limited vision. Because of that, he takes life one careful step at a time. He walks slowly to learn his surroundings, bumping gently into a step before bravely climbing it, then repeating the process for the next. It is his way of saying, "I've got this." Despite everything, Howie has shown nothing but kindness. He does not react negatively when touched unexpectedly and has not shown any signs of aggression when sniffed by other animals. He simply adjusts, recalibrates, and keeps going with quiet trust. Howie is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Please do not let that discourage you. His treatment will be fully covered and completed by Footbridge Foundation at no cost to his adopter. He can go home now to his forever family while we continue his care. What Howie needs most is a patient heart, a consistent environment, and someone who sees him for who he truly is.
