APPLICATION & INFO: https://barkbarkwag.org/adopt.html CELESTE ***IMPORTANT: PLEASE EMAIL barkbarkwag@yahoo.com WITH ANY QUESTIONS--INQUIRIES THROUGH PETFINDER DON'T ALWAYS REACH US! Celeste will be at our Hello March Meet & Greet Sun. 3/1 from 2-4:30pm at Premier Pet Supply, 19784 Haggerty Rd., Livonia, MI! Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BuwK8Tee6/ Sweet Miss Celeste is an affectionate, playful, 12#, 1-year-old Shih-Tzu mix who's a bit shy meeting new people. Celeste trusts people who use gentle words and baby talk, and who show lots of loving affection. She has some 'stranger danger', and would do best in a quieter home with less visitors. MUST HAVES: *NO EXCEPTION* 1. A friendly dog playmate 40# or less, adult not senior, to be a play buddy for Celeste and help her continue gaining confidence. 2. A moderately active adult family or one with respectful kids 10+. 3. A physical fully-fenced yard, no electric fences or tie outs. Celeste is still very afraid on a leash, so she does require a safe, fenced area for going potty. Celeste loves to give tiny licks to her person for affection, and comes over often to check in for reassurance. Celeste will sit on your lap for long periods of time; and if you stop petting her, she will nudge your hand or lick you in hopes you will start again. Celeste is a "bark announcer" of people and sometimes noises she isn't familiar with. She enjoys carrying her stuffies around in her mouth and also gathering them up in her crate. Celeste loves her crate and feels safe there, so a kind, loving family who will let her access an open door/covered crate for however long she needs it would be great. Celeste has had some changes in her life, and is slower to trust new people or dogs (but once she's comfortable, she warms up and is fine with both). Celeste would love a similar-sized, adult-not-senior doggie housemate who enjoys chase and playing. It is adorable and fun to watch her try to initiate play with her puppy play-bows, running and booty bumping. Celeste would do best in a family who has dog experience, and can give her the love and time she needs to continue growing. Celeste is working on her potty training skills, and is learning to ask to go outside; her new family will need to continue taking her outside every few hours for more frequent potty breaks. She is a sweet and playful girl who never got the love, care or support she needed as she grew; so we're working to help her build confidence and learn that she will always be loved and safe. PLEASE NOTE: Celeste's ideal family will be an adult family, or one with respectful kids 10+ up. She requires a physical fenced yard, and will need to go to the groomer every 8-10 weeks to keep her skin and coat healthy. Celeste is a charming girl who will be a wonderful family member! Adoption preference will be given to families who plan to attend positive reinforcement manners classes with their new pup!
