About Ewa Needs A Forever
Ewa Needs A Forever is a small, black Shih Tzu with a long coat, born on September 17, 2023—making her a detail-oriented Virgo! When Ewa arrived, she was in rough shape: severely matted, underweight, and healing from a raw neck caused by a collar, plus other health issues. After receiving careful grooming and medical care (including successful hernia repair and spay surgery), Ewa has been thriving in her foster home, putting on weight and gaining confidence. She absolutely cannot tolerate being crated, a result of being left in one too often before rescue. Ewa must go to a home where crating is never used. She requires a fully enclosed fenced yard and needs a steady routine and patient humans, ideally those who understand how to help an anxious dog settle in. She’s playful, loves to run, and is happiest cuddling with people—just don’t expect her to enjoy car rides. Ewa gets along nicely with other dogs and would do best with children at least 7 years old. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, on monthly heartworm preventative, and house trained. The rescue requires adopters to live within an hour of Birmingham, MI and complete a home visit (no same-day adoptions). For dogs older than one year, adopters must attend one obedience class.
