A sad thing happened today and it was a good reminder that not every pet who needs a new home was simply discarded by their family. This is Pepper. She was adopted from us as a puppy nine years ago. Today her elderly owners had to return her to us due to their own debilitating health issues. It was a heartbreaking goodbye for both the humans and sweet Pepper, who didn’t understand why her people left and she had to stay with us. Pepper’s mom and dad took wonderful care of her over the years and they loved her well. This sweet girl is 9.5 years old and she weighs about 20 lbs. She is short and stocky, built like a Corgi but with a soft, feathery coat. Pepper is excellent with other dogs, indifferent to cats and said to be good with children. She is crate-trained and good on a leash. Pepper’s only issue is that she has a sensitive tummy that requires a certain type of food. She is in excellent health for her age and all of her previous vet records are available for her new owner. Pepper still has lots of life left to live and we hope that she can quickly be welcomed in to a new home and family. Pepper is fully vetted -- spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations and deworming. The adoption fee is $300. We accept payment in the form of cash, CashApp and Zelle.
