**Meet Freedom – A Tiny Guy with a Big Personality** Freedom is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs 12 pounds and is bursting with charm. He’s a fun, happy-go-lucky little guy who loves toys, enjoys following shelter staff around, and has completely won over everyone who meets him. Staff lovingly describe him as a “sweet, beautiful angel.” Freedom absolutely adores kids and was especially obsessed with his 4-year-old human buddy. He lights up around children and thrives on their companionship. With adults, he can be a little suspicious at first and may take some time to warm up, but once he trusts you, he’s incredibly devoted. He does well in a crate and is still working on house training. A belly band has been helpful, and we’re hopeful that once he’s neutered this week, that need will diminish. While he can get along with other dogs, he may prefer being the only dog in the home or living with dogs his size or smaller. Playful, high-energy puppies are not his favorite. Freedom does have a bit of that classic sassy Chihuahua personality, which only adds to his charm. A securely fenced yard is required, as he could be difficult to catch if he became spooked and took off. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion who will adore your kids and keep you entertained, Freedom is ready to find his forever home. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
