Tater came into rescue from a rural shelter in Texas after being surrendered from a hoarding situation. Since then, he has settled into foster care and shown that he would make a wonderful, quiet companion. Tater would especially suit an older person or a calm household. He enjoys going for walks and once he is on leash, he has a clear mission to investigate every smell along the trail. He truly enjoys being outdoors with his person. He does need a consistent bathroom routine to remain housebroken, so structure will be important in his new home. He would thrive in a peaceful home where he can take regular walks, enjoy fresh air, and spend steady, quiet time with someone who appreciates a gentle and loyal companion. Tater is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/7/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due.
