Stumpy is 1 year old. Abandoned on a vacant lot with a few others near downtown Syracuse in the Summer of 2025, he trusted his community cat caregiver almost immediately. Despite everything he’d been through, Stumpy carried a sweetness and a quiet bravery that made it impossible not to love him. As winter storms rolled in and temperatures dropped below zero, it became clear he needed more than outdoor shelter. His caregiver made the decision to bring him inside for his own safety — but even before that, Stumpy sought out warmth and human connection. He would curl up on the heated passenger seat of his caregiver's car, soaking in comfort, safety, and the simple relief of being cared for. Those small moments of warmth were the bridge between the life he had survived and the life he deserved. He deserved love long before he ever found himself on that vacant lot, and now he finally has the chance to receive it fully. He is very affectionate, great with kids, loves to play, and a curious explorer who can get into mischief if left alone too long.
