About Flynn

📌 Important Information • All of our dogs are currently in foster homes in Mexico 🇲🇽. They are listed as being in Sherwood, Oregon because that is where our rescue is officially based for adoption purposes. • To keep our dogs safe and reduce unnecessary stress, we only fly dogs to Oregon once we have an approved adopter. ✈️ After approval, we coordinate the flight directly to Portland (PDX), with your new family member typically arriving within 2–4 weeks. 💛 About The Meximutt Project (A Born Again Pit Bull Rescue initiative) Over 18 million dogs live on Mexico’s streets. Our organization works at the source through rescue, spay/neuter programs, and adoption into loving Oregon homes. Since 2019: 🐶 460+ dogs adopted • ✂️ 3,500+ dogs spayed/neutered 👉 Interested in adopting? PLEASE FILL OUT APPLICATION AT www.bapbr.org ⚠️ We’re unable to respond to requests that come through Petfinder ************************** 🐾 Meet FLYNN 🐾 • AGE: ~5 months old • WEIGHT: ~24 lbs • BREED(S): Shepherd mix (our best guess since they’re rescues!) • GOOD WITH KIDS? Yes, but please keep in mind that they must be taught to respect the dog’s space, belongings, and food. • HOUSEBROKEN? Not 100% yet. As a dog rescued off the street and currently living outdoors or in foster homes with tile surfaces, they'll need some time to be 100% housebroken. Most of our dogs adapt to a potty routine within 1-2 weeks with consistent training. Flynn's mother spent her entire life on the streets of Santa Cruz del Astillero, surviving however she could. At just two years old, she'd already given birth twice—eight puppies in her second litter alone, born in a tiny cave on an abandoned lot. No shelter, no safety, just her and her babies trying to make it through each day. For the first seven or eight weeks of their lives, Flynn and his siblings depended entirely on their mother's instinct to keep them alive in a place where street dogs are often treated as disposable. When a neighbor started bringing food, these puppies finally had a chance. Six weeks ago, they were brought inside—away from traffic, away from danger, away from a community where animal cruelty is heartbreakingly common. Flynn has spent his short life overcoming what he was born into. And somehow, despite everything, he's become one of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet. "These dogs are truly angels," his foster says. "You have no idea how wonderful they are. They're warm, they're loving, they're smart." Flynn is a little shy when he first meets someone new—understandable given his rough start. But once he knows you're safe, he opens up completely. The other day at the park, he gently picked up his toy and carried it over to his foster's tiny Chihuahua, dropping it at her feet like an invitation to play. He's careful with smaller dogs, aware of his growing size and strength in a way that's remarkable for a four-month-old puppy. He's also incredibly smart. He already understands boundaries, sleeps quietly on a blanket next to his foster's bed, and wakes her at 6 AM like clockwork for breakfast. Twice a day, they go to the park where he and his brother run laps around the soccer field, rolling in the grass, exploring, playing with whatever catches their attention. He's got that perfect puppy energy—eager to play and learn, but not overwhelming. Flynn loves his toys—balls, old shoes, knotted rags, rawhide bones. He'll entertain himself for hours, wrestling with his brother Olivier or romping with the foster's other dogs. He's well-adjusted, and ready for the next chapter of his life. What Flynn needs is a family who understands that his gentleness comes from resilience, not weakness. Someone active enough to give him daily exercise and play. Someone patient enough to let him be a little cautious at first, knowing that once he trusts you, he's all in. After being born in a cave, after spending his earliest weeks in danger, after working so hard to become the loving, well-mannered puppy he is today—Flynn deserves a home where he'll never have to worry again. Where he's not just surviving, but truly thriving. Are you ready to give this sweet, resilient soul the life he's already proven he deserves? ************************* 📝 Ready to apply?
