About Max
Max is a four-year-old, neutered male German Shepherd/Husky mix who’s been waiting patiently for his next chapter. His previous owner cared for him deeply, but circumstances changed, landing Max at the shelter through no fault of his own. The staff can’t believe he’s still waiting after a year. Max has excellent manners—he knows all the basic commands and rarely jumps up. This is a genuinely housebroken dog who prefers a steady routine and a laid-back pace. He enjoys daily walks through the fields and will play with toys for a bit, though he’s not bouncing off the walls like a young pup. Max likes other dogs but isn’t a candidate for a multi-dog home; he guards his toys around other animals. The same goes for cats—he’s not a fit for homes with them. Max shines around adults and children, living up to that “gentle giant” reputation, and he’s craving a real home where he can settle in and stretch out on a soft bed. What are you waiting for?
