About Dahlia
This is Dahlia, our friend at City of Raytown Animal Services. She is the sweetest lab mix, around 6 years old. Dahlia arrived at the shelter not feeling well. The amazing kennel care staff discovered she had blood in her urine and an enlarged abdomen. Dahlia was taken to the vet, where she was diagnosed with what's called a closed pyometra. A pyometra is when the uterus fills with heavy amounts of infected pus. A closed pyometra is one where you often do not see any symptoms until the dog is very sick. Thankfully, Dahlia's condition was caught in time. Dahlia is now spayed and wants to tell everyone to get your pets fixed! Pyometra is no joke; it's deadly and expensive! She also would like to mention she's looking for a place to crash for several years. She does not intend to hold a job, pay rent, or do any home repairs. What she can offer is being a loving dog for the rest of her life, enjoying the quiet times, slow walks together, meeting other calm dogs, playing fetch with the younger kiddos, and long naps on the rug. Dahlia's housebroken, doesn't mind cats (although she thinks theyâre weird), and likes other dogs, but isn't a fan of the in-your-face puppy antics. If you would like to meet Dahlia, stop by 10312 E. 63rd St., Raytown, MO, from 8:30 to 4:00, M-F, call 816-737-7025 (including to make an appointment outside those hours), or call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387.
