Sherlock found himself in deep trouble, when his owners sold their home, packed up all their things and left without taking him. Neighbors saw him huddled by the front door in the winter cold, but it was the realtor who found him, when she went to inspect the home, a full week after his people abandoned him. He was deliriously happy to be picked up and taken to his foster's home, where he quickly settled in and never looked back. He is such a happy and fun little fellow. He personifies the saying, "One man's trash will be your treasure". He figured things out in his new foster home, so quickly, we knew we had to give him a name that would speak to his intelligence and cleverness. Sherlock fit him perfectly. Sherlock is about 3 years old and weighs around 14lbs. He has an adorable little pink nose and a small underbite that is to die for. We have no idea what genetics came together to create him but he is built for fun and ease of transport. His foster has been teaching him the art of car travel where he does best in a crate or car seat, unless you want him taking over the driver's seat, with you in it. He loves his walks with his foster friend Oakley, and does pretty good on a leash. He has been great with other dogs he's met along the way but will chase kitties because, it's fun so if you have cats, they are not going to appreciate his presence in their home. He was a very polite gentleman at the vet office, getting all kinds of attention from the vet techs, which he ate up. In his foster home he is not a nuisance barker but will announce when strangers are lurking about so could add a bit of security, if there were single ladies looking to add a little to their lives. He warms quickly to guests when they come over, especially if they offer him one of his favorite snacks. He is also learning about toys and their purpose in life but has not chewed up anything inappropriate, so is done with that phase of life. He did have a few accidents, in the night time, when he first was rescued but that was cured by giving him one last potty break before bed and speaking of bed, he would love a home where he can sleep in yours...with you...just sayin.
